Hideaway Cove Wilderness Lodge is a 5-acre inholding completely surrounded by 400,000 acres of protected wilderness. Our only neighbor is Kachemak Bay State Park, the first and largest coastal park in Alaska. Guests to Hideaway Cove experience Alaska in the truest sense; mountains, glaciers, wildlife and wildflowers are abundant here. The Lodge is 8 miles from Homer, Alaska on the eastern shore of Halibut Cove. We are only accessible by boat or floatplane. In addition to the great location, guided adventures, and warm Alaskan hospitality, lodge guests also enjoy the quality facilities at the Lodge. Guest comfort and safety are our highest priorities.

Guests find our facilities quite comfortable and enjoyable. The main Lodge structure is a unique, hand crafted yurt. Spacious and warm, the yurt is the gathering and dining location. The yurt over looks the water and has a spacious deck. A wonderful place for wildlife viewing, soaking in the sun, listening to the waves, and dining. Meals at the lodge are healthy and hearty; catered fresh to the lodge each day.

 

The Observatory sits on the hillside with breathtaking views. A great place to read, relax, journal, or get creative with our complimentary art supplies.

Our quaint log cabins are set along the rocky shoreline, just inches above the quiet waters of Halibut Cove. You will enjoy the secluded location as you go to sleep with the waves whispering below. You wake up to breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and calm, Cove waters. Each log cabin has a covered deck for privacy. For your enjoyment and comfort, each cabin has a cast iron gas fireplace, a cozy sitting area, and either 1 or 2 double beds.
Our hillside cabins have incredible views and private bathrooms.   To better serve different needs and budgets, you can choose a seaside cabin with central, modern bathrooms, or pay a little more for a hillside cabin with a private bathroom.  Please note that all prices listed are for the seaside log cabins with central bathroom .

In the evenings, guests can relax on the viewing deck, enjoying the midnight sunsets and looking for a variety of marine wildlife.  The wood-fired cedar sauna is a great place to relax and unwind after a day of hiking and kayaking.
